Prepaid, per GB-month

Basin is billed from the same prepaid balance as your apps: you redeem a voucher, the value lands as credit, and your booked capacity is metered against it. There is no subscription and no minimum.

You pay for the capacity you reserve on a bucket, not for how much traffic you move or how many API calls you make. That makes your bill easy to predict: it tracks the sum of your buckets' booked capacity, nothing else.

A worked example

A 50 GB bucket costs:

50 GB × $0.04 per GB-month = $2.00 / month

That $2.00 is metered hourly and debited from your balance as the month runs, regardless of how many objects you store inside the 50 GB or how often you read them. Downloading all 50 GB a hundred times over adds nothing: egress is free.

Hourly metering

Booked capacity is measured every hour and debited from your balance once per hour, as a single ledger entry per hour. The debits appear in the same transaction history as your voucher credits, on the Billing page in the portal, where credits and charges stay auditable side by side.

Zero balance and suspension

Your balance covers object storage the same way it covers your apps:

• Keep a positive balance and your buckets keep serving normally.
• If your balance stays at zero past the grace period, the account is suspended for billing, the same suspension that pauses your apps.

Both clear the same way: redeem a voucher and service resumes. The portal shows a low-balance warning banner well before zero.
